Get involved as a Positive East Volunteer
Positive East wouldn't exist without people like you providing support as a volunteer. We rely on volunteers support and assistance in helping us deliver our services across east London.

So why not join us? It is a great way of not only gaining experience, but also developing new skills and making new friends.

We recognise the importance of volunteers as an essential part of our organisation and we try to ensure all undergo a high quality training programme. We offer a range of opportunities for all members of the community, especially minority ethnic members across London, regardless of sexuality or gender. The types of activities ranging from:

• providing support to people in the community;providing limited practical help at home;administrative based work within the organisation;
• and importantly, helping us with community fundraising and promotional events.

Voluntary Positions:

Group Facilitator
Positive Life

c. 6-8 hours per month
Voluntary

Positive Life, our group for HIV positive gay and bisexual men is looking for a co-facilitator to assist with the management of the group. The post is a voluntary one. Previous experience of facilitating would be an advantage, however training can be provided.

Responsibilities include

• Co-facilitation of group meetings
• Devising and planning activities for weekly sessions
• Basic administration
• Budgeting and managing of group finances
• Planning and scheduling of future group sessions

Knowledge of computers is preferred although training can be provided. Ideal candidate would be a gay or bisexual man living with HIV. Must be able to commit to approximately 6 hours per month on the project (planning and delivery time).
