The Condom Countdown

	You can get condoms from Chemists, Supermarkets, some GUM Clinics, bars and pubs (through the Freedoms scheme) as well Positive East centres. You can order them on the internet (www.freedoms-shop.com). You can also order a free ‘condoms and lube pack’ from East London Out Project (ELOP) on 020 8509 3898 or via email shop@elop.org. Always look for a condom that has the British Standard Kite mark on the packaging.
	If you are allergic to latex try Durex Allergy, or condoms made of polyurethane (plastic) such as Durex Avanti.
	Check to make sure they have not gone past the use by date.
	Store your condoms away from heat.
	Make sure you have the right kind of lubricant (water-based with latex rubber).
	Remove the condom from the packet carefully avoid tearing and check that it is the right way round (it should roll down and out easily).
	Squeeze the end to remove the air, (air bubbles can make then break) place the condom on the head of your penis, then roll the condom down to the base smoothing it as you go.
	Apply plenty of water based lubricant to the outside of the condom and reapply lube during sex if needed. It’s best not to put the lube inside the condom, as too much and it could slip off.
	After ejaculation, hold the base of the condom and pull the penis out before it gets soft.
	Throw the used condom away, (into the rubbish not down the toilet) and don’t use it again.

Get it On

CHAPS have launched a new campaign reminding men to get it on when they have sex.

Adverts featuring sexy new imagery will be appearing in the major gay press in England and Wales and outreach workers will be in gay venues around the country to talk to men about condom use.
