Putting the spring into inspiring
The Spring/Summer Workshops on Thursdays started on Thursday 10th April, at Positive East Stepney Centre.
This session we're running three courses:
Making Movies, with Dylan Stone
(Art/Film/Dreaming)
Anyone can do it. Making art and films out of your stories. All you need is a simple digital (or DV) camera.
Mucho Men, Minimal Minutes with Alberto Lado Rey
(Spanish for Sea Sun and Sex)
A beginners course in Spanish for those who want to get by on holiday, or just talk to the guy in the pub. Lots of vocabulary, some grammar but no experience (in Spanish) needed.
Magical, Mystery Muse with Andra Simons
(Creative Writing Workshop)
Through practical creative writing exercises, we'll explore the places, people and passions that inspire us. Poets and prose-writers welcome.
Places have been allocated for this session of Workshops, but we will be running another series in the autumn and in the new year. To download the Spring 2008 flyer (pdf format), click here.
What is Workshops on Thursdays?
Workshops
on Thursdays (WoT) an arts-based programme undertaken by Positive East Gay Men's team, has been running for over eight years. Providing a fresh and inspiring programme, the Workshops are open to all gay and bisexual men regardless of HIV status.
With no previous art experience needed, the Workshops provide opportunities for creative and artistic expressions that celebrates difference and fosters community and offers a unique
opportunity to get involved and explore your own artistic
expression.
If you wish to be updated regarding the forthcoming programmes, email us at wot@positiveeast.org.uk or download the flyer (pdf) by clicking here.

At the end of each Workshop session a showcase is held which exhibits the work done.
The summer 2007 exhibition - Look at Me! Look at Me! - provided a showcase for the Self Portrait workshop, along with performances on the opening night from the monologue course, with over 50 people attending on the first night.
